More and more people use the PDF format for storing and sharing documents. The reasons for this are various. PDF files are smaller in size than Microsoft Word documents, they support more media elements and they can be read using a small application called Adobe Reader. But a problem arises when having to merge several PDF files together when splitting them. Normally, for these types of tasks, you would need to install and use Adobe Acrobat, which is an expensive and difficult to learn application.

Fortunately, there is an alternative to Adobe Acrobat in this situation and that's PDF Prime. This Windows program allows you to easily merge or split several PDF documents with just a few mouse clicks, but also lock or unlock PDF files with a password, so that only you will have access to them. After the program has been installed and launched, the user first needs to add the desired PDF documents into the program's interface. Several documents can be added at the same time.

After the PDF files have been added to the application, the user is able to either merge or split the documents with a single click .Optionally, he can preview this process before actually modifying the files. When choosing to protect PDF files, the user can set up two different types of passwords, a owner and a user password. Setting up both passwords offers maximum security.

Pros

It allows you to split or merge several PDF documents at the same time. Besides that, PDF files can be protected with a owner and user password. Furthermore, the user can preview the splitting and merging process before actually modifying the files.

Cons

The interface may seem a bit too simple for some users. With the help of PDF Prime, you can easily split, merge and protect several PDF documents at the same time.
